When we launched Chezie in June 2020, our goal was to help diverse job-seekers find careers that they love. Our initial plan was to partner with companies to help them recruit from our community of job-seekers. While we did see some success with this business model, it was challenging for us to consistently partner with employers.
For this reason, we are moving away from recruiting, and shifting our focus to helping diverse employees find community and belonging through employee resource groups.
Employee resource groups (ERGs) are the backbone of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. The issue is that these groups are often under-resourced and under-utilized. From conversations we’ve had with over 100 DEI and ERG leaders, we know that too much time is spent updating membership lists and building reports, and not enough time is spent on what matters – creating community for employees. Our ERG software is designed to help companies recruit and retain diverse talent by giving them an all-in-one solution for tracking membership, events, and engagement.
