Promotion discussions

They do a good job of giving you an overview of your personal development plan and walking you through your timeline. Promotions are considered every 6 months to a year. . There's two different promotional tracks: management vs. technical. Depending on your interests, you can go in either direction. If you choose the technical route, then your journey would be something like the following: Product Manager I < Product Manager II < Sr. Product Manager < Principal Product Manager. Management track is similar to most companies.

Company culture

The culture is way more diverse. I never felt isolated and it was very easy to be yourself and talk with people. I like to say that it's a team of engineers with character.

Company culture

It depends on the job, but for Product Management it isn't stable - my hours are 7am - 7pm. But for most jobs it's pretty relaxed.

Relationships with manager(s)

They've all been great. They're all super insightful and knowledgeable. A few of them came from AT&T or Motorola, so they bring a lot of experience from outside of the Comcast world to the company. They don't micromanage you. They've been very transparent about managing me.

Company culture

It's very buttoned up, but not in a stifling way. The dress is a lot more business professional/casual, whereas with NBCU it's more casual or trendy. Comcast is just more traditional in that sense.

Company culture

It's a healthy office culture. It's not like Google or Facebook where it's just fun fun fun, but in terms of being in a large corporation, it's healthy. The atmosphere isn't bro-ey. It's efficient; people work really hard.

Company culture

They have a fantastic work-life balance. People are out by 5pm, but they get a lot of stuff done. They're very efficient in meetings.

Company culture

When people work at Comcast, they stick around because it's a really great place to work.

Diversity programs

I'm part of the ELG at Comcast and NBC. I think the programs are genuine. I don't think that I've had negative interactions in terms of race. I'm cognizant of the fact that I'm likely the only Latina woman in a room, but I've never felt like someone was making fun of it or singling me out by any means.

Application and interview process

I interned first, and then was interviewed for a FT role at the end of the internship. The process was straightforward. I applied online. It was very simple; I applied through Indeed. They were pretty transparent about the timing and everything.

Company culture

It's very fast-paced. It's very resourceful and social. It's an environment where merit will get you far, but being good at your job and being likeable will get you really far.

Company culture

It's a really fun company. There's a lot more social activity going on. It's also very lively, so everyone is friends past even being co-workers.

Diversity programs

They're pretty standard for a Fortune 50 business. We have employee resource groups for different minority groups. They are focused on race, abilities, and sexuality.

Diversity programs

There's a good level of autonomy for the ERGs. Being part of the Black ERG, a lot of the recent events are focused on the Black experience with all of the social justice movements going on.
