About Chezie

Chezie is an all-in-one solution designed to help enterprises build impactful employee resource groups. We help these organizations easily and seamlessly track membership, events, budgets, and engagement.

We’re a team of three that’s passionate about creating inclusive workplaces. We just crossed the $6k MRR mark, and we plan to close our seed fundraise in July.

Learn more about our team and our story here: https://www.chezie.co/about-us. Or, check out this documentary that NPR made about us! Please note that we've pivoted from the idea discussed in this video, but our mission and vision remains the same.

What it’s like to work here

We’re small but mighty! The team currently consists of Co-Founders Toby and Dumebi, CTO Will, and a small group of engineers. We’re fully-remote with plans to stay that way as our company grows. We work asynchronously and use tools like Slack and email to communicate with each other.

Admittedly, we’re still figuring out what kind of culture we want to cultivate here, but know this: our focus is building a company that people are excited to work for. We’re looking for someone that’s committed to our mission and ready to be part of what we believe to be the solution to a $30B+ dollar problem: employee retention.

What your day-to-day will look like

We’re looking for a founding engineer that is eager to join a mission-driven company and ready to contribute right away.

  • Maintain momentum and consistently work on/complete GitHub issues assigned.
  • Meet regularly (think once a week) for a sprint meeting to discuss what was completed, and what is needed for the following week’s sprint.
  • Receive designs and implement to spec.
  • Create pull requests in GitHub.
  • Participate in code reviews.

What to expect after 1 year of working with us

Our focus over the next six months is to build out integrations with the tools that our customers regularly use: Slack, HRIS systems, MS Teams, etc. We’re increasing visibility into ERGs, and integrations will be a big focus for us in the coming months.

  1. 3-month mark: you’ll be familiar with the codebase and our tech stack and shipped one major feature.
  2. 6-month mark: you’ll begin to oversee development for some of our other engineers and continue to work on some of our larger features.
  3. 9-month mark: you’ll be overseeing a group of contract engineers and helping to shape our product roadmap as we learn more about our customers and their needs.
  4. 12-month mark: you’ll be one of our engineering leaders, mentoring other engineers on our team and growing your full-stack skillset.
